Polyphonic Passports is my first-ever public fundraising campaign, aimed at raising money for my visa application and lawyer's fee.
I came to London 3,5 years ago to study at the Institute of Contemporary Music (ICMP). During my time at ICMP, I gained a Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in Vocals and a master’s degree in Creative Music Production and was awarded “Outstanding Student” for my work during my master’s. During my first 2,5 years, I struggled to find friends and community whilst juggling multiple jobs/creating and promoting my music. It wasn’t until last year that I was able to make deeper connections with friends, find a music community, and secure a job as a student service officer at the creative college Big Creative Training (BCT) that I felt like London was a place I wanted to stay.
How much am I raising — and why
My current visa expires in October and is up for renewal. I will have to pay lawyers to help me navigate the jungle that is the immigration system, and on top of that, pay the visa fee, which would come to approximately £5,800. I currently have 4 jobs to afford it, but I need help from a wider community to raise the money.
The money would cover:
• Lawyer fees
• The visa application fee
• The NHS fee (£1000/for each year I stay in the UK
Any excess funds would go toward funding the mixing and mastering of my EP “Sucito: Blue Collar Lovers Club,” a love letter and homage to his working-class heroes, including my former colleagues at one of London’s many cleaning companies.
Call to action
I’d be grateful if you could donate and share this page today. Every donation, no matter the size, helps me take the next step! <3
