Hi family and friends,
My name is David Paul Lim-Achanzar, Polo for short.
I've been invited to join and represent Perth this March 15-24, 2024 in Manila for Home Grown Basketball Australia (HGBA) 14 and Under Manila Live. I've started loving the game of basketball since I was about 3 years old when my dad made me a make shift ring when we lived in the Philippines and had my first basketball ball. My Grandpa and I would watch PBA and NBA games together on tv. I witnessed Stephen Curry's greatness at an early age and have always wanted to be like him. When we moved to Australia when I was 8, my dad was teaching me how to play the game. My parents have then signed me up and joined the Hills Hornets and since I was 9 years old, I've been competing in club games from Castle Hill, NSW to joining a team in Dominoes Basketball Club as well as Hobart Phoenix when we lived in Tasmania for 5 years from 2019, to now living in Melbourne and have been lucky enough to be a part of Western Wildcats team. I love basketball. And I'm forever grateful for my parents in supporting me in this journey. They take me everywhere for my trainings and games. They have provided me an opportunity to have joined Basketball TAS Future Development Program course for a year, to investing in a proper hoop in our backyard to providing me a membership for Swisher Academy where I can properly train. To my dad who has given a lot of his time to train me and also motivates me in working hard for my dreams and attain my goals to even coaching my team for the past years, I'm forever greatful. I was also lucky enough to travel in our own state (back in TAS) competed in State Champs as well as going to the mainland to compete twice for 3v3 games in Ballarat, VIC. I know I have asked them for too much and all I really want to do is to be able to follow my dreams and to one day becoming a pro.
