Polly Petrie Tribute Mardi Gras Float

Hi My name is Andrew Starr aka Dawn Service and I have a float in the 2024 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The float celebrates the career of Polly Petrie who ran Australia's longest running drag show. "Pollies Follies" for over 27 years. The show began at The Albury Hotel, before moving to The Lizard Lounge Kings Cross, The Exchange Hotel Darlinghurst and finally for the last 14 years at Stonewall Hotel where it ran to the beginning of the COVID Lockdown. Polly has made a few cameo appearance since but recently has been ill with a melanoma. This float will celebrate Polly and will hopefully be creative, colorful, fabulous an CAMP!!! The funds are for truck and driver hire, decoration, sound and lighting any surplus funds will be donated to the oncology ward at St Vincent's Hospital
