Hi, my name is Catherine L., and I have a 13 years old cat named Polly. Polly was brought to my life unexpectedly 13 years ago when I was still in college and did not even consider the thought of loving a pet. Yet, Polly stole my heart with a one single touch of her paw, and we have been inseperable since. Those of you who knows me know that I take this little cat everywhere I go, traveling across states, moving from one home to another. She is so strong, friendly, curious, calming, well-trained, and loving to anyone that crosses her path. I am always so proud to call her my child and have worked hard to give her the best life she deserves.

About 6 months ago, she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism--treatable as long as she takes her daily meds. However, in the last 2 months, she began showing symptoms unrelated to her hyperthyroidism and went through hell of vet visits and different medications, yet the vets could not figure out what is going on. She's been having upset stomach and diarahea everyday for almost 2 months now. I've given her variety of food to try, but she hardly touches anything nowadays. Polly's weight used to be 13lbs in 2022, and a month ago, she weighted 9lbs, and today she's at 7lbs. The vet has taken blood tests, stool samples, given her pre/pro-biotics, dewormers, anti-diareherra meds, yet no improvements... I've also researched home remedies for potential indigestion issues and have tried pumpkin puree, goat milk, and CBD oil, yet she is still lethergic, frail, sleeping under my bed day and night, disengaged. I've used prettylitter, and all colors look normal, so I'm at a lost here.

Before you dismiss us and say she's an old cat, death is a part of life, please know that Polly is my world. She has been through so much with me, and she's got many more years to go if we all pitched in to get her the next treatment plan the vets are suggesting. Lately, I find myself laying down under my bed next to her, sobbing, overwhelmed by my perpetual anxiety, sensing her pain and feeling completely helpless. Polly has pet insurance (Metlife), but the insurance won't pay upfront and continues to deny my claims for not meeting the deductible etc. I've applied for Care Credit and was pre-approved, only to find out at the end of the application process that I did not get approved after all. Its been a stressful, depressing 2 months, and I'm running out of time.

So I'm reaching to you to help with what you can, so I can get her the proper treatment she desperately needs. The vet has advised the next step would be to do an ultrasound which will cost around $500-$700, excluding examinations, future treatment plans, and other fees. I would really like to figure out what's causing all this pain and discomfort on my little girl, and I need your help. Polly is my heart. She is my child, and I can't bare the thought of losing her because I couldn't afford a grand to pay the vet's overpriced fees... Although some may find my relationship with my cat to be ridiculous or "crazy cat lady" mode, I honestly do not care... I just need your help even if you may not understand the severity of the amount of stress, distraught, and pain we are going through. So please know that I would not utilize a platform like this if I was not in dire need for financial assistance. Please help save my Polly. Your generoisty means the world to both of us.
