Pollinators and Prairie in the Trails @ VDP!

Let's seed the park!!! If you haven't heard a group of us are trying to seed the newly established mountain bike trails in Van Dorn Park with native pollinator and prairie plants. We hope to beautify the park and enhance natural habitat for pollinator insects such as butterflies and native bees as well as promote other wildlife in the park!

We are working with Lincoln Parks and Rec and the Indian Village Neighborhood Association as well as help from the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and Spring Creek Prairie.

We are receiving a $500 matching grant from the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.  Anything beyond the match will go to purchasing more seed to be used in other areas of the park so please keep donating. We are hoping to raise money to purchase locally sourced native pollinator and prairie seed which isn't cheap but is very doable with a little help! Below are the two areas we will work on first.
