Hi My name is Wojciech - and most of You know me well thru working together.
As You might have heard in News catastrophic floods hit Southern Poland.
Region of Kłodzka Valley was hit on Sunday morning 15.09.2024 with unseen floods, a result of weeks of continues rain and catastrophic dam failure on nearby retention lake.
My family town Lądek Zdrój and many other small towns and villages around the area are in desperate need of any help - financial and material.
Lives are lost and infrastructure is near not existing. Towns are not accessible by roads and are cut off from power, communication, drinking water. Situation on the ground is dramatic, any form of help is priceless.
Polish community in Ireland is sending tons of aid help to Poland’s worst affected areas – the scale of devastation is beyond imagination. Especially in mountain regions.
People are in desperate need of basics supplies. The latest reports suggest that many houses / buildings / infrastructures that survived flood is beyond point of repair, and ultimately more people will lose their shelter. The upcoming winter in mountain areas only add uncertainty for survivors.
The most challenging is access to small mountain villages by large delivery trucks. To avoid time loos and to make sure aid reach pout to those in need:
I am rising money to rent a van and drive direct with 2 tons of aid directly to affected places.
Aid is collected across the country and then moved to Newbridge co. Kildare where it is loaded on trucks and vans.
