My name is Asha Taylor, and I’m a night shift oncology nurse, mother, and budding entrepreneur—the founder of The Nurses Lounge of Central Arkansas , a social group on a mission to help nurses overcome burnout in healthcare.

On October 5, 2025, my life took a shocking turn. While I was at work caring for patients, the Maumelle Police Department wrongfully entered my home—kicking in my back door after a young woman claimed her suicidal friend was inside. That friend was never at my address. The police failed to verify the location before destroying my property.

When I returned home that morning after my shift, I was terrified—believing I had been robbed. My door was busted open, my home and dog left unsecured for over 12 hours, and I had received no notice or communication from the police or the city.

I only learned the truth after calling 911 to report a burglary at my home over 12 hours later, once I arrived that following morning and saw that the back door had been severely damaged and my dog, whom I had left safely in his room the night before, was loose inside the house.

While the City of Maumelle sent workers to “fix” the door, the repairs are poor quality and unsafe. My home deserves to be restored properly—not patched up as an afterthought. I am now pursuing legal action against the Maumelle Police Department for negligence, property damage, and emotional distress.
