Police Unity Tour: Remembering Heroes
Donation protected
Dear Supporter,
This year will be my 14th year riding in the Police Unity Tour representing Stonehill College Police, Sgt. Sean Gannon (105) and the Massachusetts officers killed in the line of duty. This honor and privilege would not be possible without your continued support. Knowing and understanding that the cost of living and running a business is financially tight during this period of time, any donation, no matter what the amount, would be greatly appreciated.
This year I will be riding and honoring the 162 officers that lost their lives in the line of duty. The number one cause of death for police officers last year was gunfire (49 officers killed), showing how dangerous and unpredictable police work is. I will also be riding in honor of Billerica Police Sergeant Ian Taylor. Sgt. Taylor was killed on April 26, 2024, in a construction accident after he was struck by an excavator during a detail assignment.
The Police Unity Tour Chapter II consists of law enforcement officers bicycling from New Jersey to Washington D.C. to honor fallen officers who have died in the line of duty. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of the police officers who have died in the line of duty and raise monetary support and awareness of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and Museum located in Washington D.C.
The Police Unity Tour will begin in South Jersey on May 9, 2024, visiting some of the towns where officers have fallen in the line of duty before departing the state en route to the nation's capital. We will ride close to 300 miles to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. The Police Unity Tour is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. (Tax Identification Number 20-8960869)
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial was founded in 1983 by United States Congress members who wanted to recognize the services and sacrifices of all enforcement officers who have ever died in the line of duty. Unlike other memorials in our nation's capital, this memorial will continue to grow each year as we honor the officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund includes:
Operating a Memorial Visitors Center and Museum
Helping families of fallen officers in their time of need
Working towards preventing police fatalities
Researching old and new deaths of officers killed in the line of duty
Conducting ceremonies and other events at the Memorial
Recognizing the anniversaries of all line-of-duty deaths
Maintenance of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial
Thank you in advance for your generosity and recognition.
Respectfully,
Officer Paul Parlon,
