Hall of Fame Polaris Race Trailer

My name is Larry Preston, author of Starfire Kids - Midnight Blue Express, and I would like to invite you to take part in the preservation of a great piece of snowmobile history.
The Snowmobile Hall of Fame in St. Germain, Wisconsin is raising the funds to partially restore and preserve the Polaris Professional Race Team trailer that is now on display at the Hall of Fame, thanks to a very generous donation of the trailer, and the money they put into it to make it road worthy from Polaris.
This is is the trailer that carried the Polaris race team from the 1960's through 1978. Racing legends Bob Eastman, Jim Bernat, Leroy Lindblad, Larry Rugland, Don Omdahl, Burt Basset, Brad Hulings, Steve Thorsen, Jerry Bunke and many more made this their "home away from home" when racing in professional events from Maine to Montana, and all over Canada.
She is in remarkably good condition, with the original generators, shelves and more still in place. To restore the trailer, she needs a little bit of body work, paint and the lettering put back on the trailer. All proceeds will go towards that work.
The Snowmobile Hall of Fame is a 501c organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of snowmobileing and snowmobile racing.
When completed, the trailer will be on display at the Hall of Fame, next to the Arctic Cat race trailer.
We needs the funds prior to beginning the blasting, painting and body work. We'd like to have it all done during the summer of 2016.
Upon the completion of the project, we are planning a special event to reunite Polaris racers and race sleds for a special celebration and photo shoot at the hall of fame in the fall or early winter.
We would be very grateful for your support; Donors names will be displayed on a large plaque outside the trailer, and you'll be invited to the grand unveiling.
During the late 60's and 1970's, thousands of people would go every weekend to snowmobile races all over the snow belt. The factory race trailers were more than a way to haul machines to the events. They were mobile race shops and fan appreciation centers, and often fans would line up for autographed photos of thier favorite racers.
In 1974, I was just a kid when I saw my very first race, and was lucky enough to get to go inside this very Polaris race trailer. To see it preserved for generations to come is a worthy goal - the Arctic Cat and Polaris trailers on display will give anyone who wasn't there to witness the size and scope of professional racing back in the day a way to see and touch that history that cannot be matched in mere photos!
