Hi. Hello. Greetings from Polar—

the biggest, sweetest, tiniest jelly bean ever stuffed into a giant cloud-shaped body.

Polar is essentially a sentient hug. A walking cumulus. A bear disguised as a marshmallow.

Her favourite hobbies include:

delivering the best bear hugs you’ve ever experienced (back pain optional),

enthusiastically crunching dried pig ear strips, and

performing joyful bunny hops around you the moment you get home, as if you’ve been gone for years instead of 12 minutes.

Now for the less-funny-but-still-loving part.

Polar came into my life very suddenly as a foster. While she is safe, adored, spoiled with affection, and currently convinced she lives in a five-star cuddle resort, she does have some important needs that need addressing sooner rather than later.

Her gorgeous cloud coat is currently compacted and unable to shed properly, which can lead to matting, hot spots, and painful skin infections. We do have a groomer lined up, but Polar and baths are currently in a “getting-to-know-you-from-a-safe-distance” phase. If you’ve ever tried to convince a Great Pyrenees to do something she’s unsure about… you already understand. Brushing alone won’t fix this, so we’re taking the slow, gentle, trust-building approach she deserves. This means multiple sessions and ongoing grooming costs so she can be comfy in her own fluff again.

Once her coat is sorted, Polar also needs to be spayed. This big, beautiful girl deserves a life full of pampered naps, couch cuddles, and zero surprise puppies. Unfortunately, there are no low-cost or assistance clinics nearby, and because Polar is approximately the size of a small livestock guardian angel, this procedure comes with a pretty hefty price tag.

The good news? Polar may have a chance at the perfect forever home. Getting these medical and grooming needs taken care of will help her get there faster—and set her up for a long, happy life full of love, safety, and endless hugs.
