Olivia Rybicka-Oliver: Skating For Young Heroes
Donation protected
Hello
My name is Olivia Rybicka-Oliver and with my wonderful new ice dance partner, Joshua Andari, we have been selected to compete at the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating event in Gdansk, Poland.
We’re both 16 years old and totally dedicated, training 6 hours a day. You can watch our first Rhythm Dance of the season at: https://youtu.be/1TZtz0gNDlE
This year I’ve also started my new charitable cause “Skating for Young Heroes” which works in hand with the Polish children’s charity, Fundacja Dziecięca Fantazja, to bring joy and love to children, aged 3 - 18, who have a terminal illness or life-limiting condition. These children are our Young Heroes.
When we compete in Gdansk, four sick kids and their families will be invited to watch us perform and then, after the event, we will spend 3 days traveling to the homes of 10 other very sick children to present them with their material “wish gifts”; laptops, smartphones, gaming devices, rehabilitation equipment and toys.
I’m reaching out, with this appeal, in the hope that my dedication, hard work, commitment and compassion will encourage you to make a donation towards the wish gifts for the children we will be visiting.
Throughout my skating career I’ve never stopped working to help sick kids. When I was 11 years old, I broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest spinner on ice at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, and in doing so raised over $20,000 to make the children’s wishes come true and gave my “world record skates” to a young girl with spina-bifida.
I’ve continued to help less fortunate kids ever since and now, together with my partner Josh, we intend to “light up the lives” of even more children through our “Skating for Young Heroes” initiative.
If you would like to make a contribution, I would be forever grateful.
Thank you.
