Pogo has always been one tough little dog. After surviving being attacked by a coyote and losing her leg as a puppy, she's never let anything get her down. That's why we were very concerned recently when she started to get sick. After a few days of puking, she started refusing to eat or drink. She was soon extremely lethargic and trembling. Her body became very warm, she had labored breathing, and her heart was beating irregularly.

We rushed her to the Cornell Emergency Vet to find out what is wrong. She had an extremely high fever of 104, her white blood cell count was very elevated, and ultrasound showed concerns with her liver, spleen, kidneys, and adrenal glands. She also has a heart murmur.

Over the last few days she has had many more tests, bloodwork, etc, and even a full consult with the cardiology dept to try to get to the root of what's going on. Thankfully she has remained stable and her bloodwork has been improving, however her fever keeps coming back and we're still not sure why. If all goes well, she should be coming home soon though.

Needless to say, this has resulted in a massive vet bill, but we always wanted to make sure we did what we could to help her. I hate to even do this, but we're hoping to raise whatever we can towards the final bill.
