Hello, friends and kind-hearted souls,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Obo Martin, and I am a storyteller, poet, and musician on a mission to bring healing and catharsis to those who need it the most. I have embarked on a remarkable journey, one that involves taking my old typewriter to the streets and marginalized communities from San Francisco to Nashville offering the service of therapeutically reading people and reflecting back to them the depths of their emotional pain bodies, and the ways in which they process grief and celebrate monumental occasions.
it has taken me by surprise that I would be called to do this but here I am ready to go.
Throughout this experience, I have been deeply moved by the profound emotional impact it has had on both me and the individuals I've encountered. It has awakened within me a sense of purpose and a calling to make myself available in this unique and powerful way.
Now, with great excitement, I am thrilled to share that I will be taking this transformative journey from San Francisco all the way to Nashville in a beautifully converted tour bus. As I travel from city to city, I have shows booked along the way, including a special appearance at the Oregon Country Fair starting at the end of June. This tour will provide me with the opportunity to reach a wider audience and touch the lives of countless individuals in need of emotional release and rejuvenation.
However, I cannot embark on this journey alone. I humbly request your support to make this vision a reality. By contributing to this cause, you will play an invaluable role in ensuring that I have the necessary resources to bring comfort, solace, and hope to those who are hurting.
Your generous donations will help reimburse money spent on the bus and cover the costs of fuel maintenance and repairs, accommodation, essential supplies, promotional materials, and other logistical expenses. My main request is I want to buy receding equiptment to properly document and capture these emotional encounters .Additionally, your contributions will enable me to continue booking shows and reaching out to communities where the need is greatest.
I cannot stress enough how deeply moving and essential this work is. Through my therapeutic offering, I have witnessed individuals find solace in their darkest moments and discover newfound strength in their celebrations. It is a profound honor to bear witness to these journeys of self-discovery and healing, and I firmly believe that together, we can make a difference in the lives of many.
