Poe Poe

Poe aka Poe Poe, everyone's favourite happy-go-lucky pup has hit a very unexpected bump in the road. Poe's belly began to swell and after some days of bloating, she needed to be rushed to the emergency vet. After many tests and some overnight stays, it was discovered that she had a significant amount of fluid 5+ lbs. in her abdomen. This fluid came back to have traces of Mast cell tumor (MCT) a cancer of a type of blood cell normally involved in the body’s response to allergens and inflammation. Poe's liver is enlarged in response to this and she is having drastic weight loss and other complications.

Poe is only 3.5 years old and is very healthy otherwise. On Tuesday, November 5th when we brought her home, we were told because of this Poe would have weeks and potentially a month or more. However, on Wednesday Night the 6th we rushed her back to emergency after 5+ hours of vomiting, where we were now given notice of only having just a few days left with her.

We love our Poe Poe and so does everyone who meets her. She's a big ball of love and is holding on strong. Unfortunately, Poe is not going to recover from this. We are devastated and heartbroken as one can imagine that our little trio of a family is coming to an end.

This GoFundMe is set up to help us during this time with Poe's multiple emergency vet bills, overnight stays and medications as this was all so unexpected. We will also be making preparations for at-home euthanization so Poe does not need to suffer anymore and can say goodbye in our arms and the comfort of her home. We also hope to have Poe cremated so she can live in some of her favourite places once she goes to the great big off-leash dog park.
