These are intense days for people of color.
In the personal, emotional, spiritual, political and cultural realms, we are navigating inordinate trauma and facing extraordinary grief and despair. For our personal and psychological well-being, this is an important time for us to come together in community to release and heal our collective sorrow.
This is why we've asked Sobonfu Somé to lead a special Community Grief Ritual for People of Color, in Seattle, WA - because many of us are in a fight for our life and sanity, and we need teachers like Sobonfu to help us navigate all that we're forced to emotionally endure.
Sobonfu is an internationally renowned lecturer and ritual keeper, born and raised in the Dagara Tribe of Burkina Faso, West Africa. The grief ritual is a regular practice in her native home and will be led according to her Dagara tradition.
In order to keep the cost of healing just and affordable for all our people, we launched this campaign to raise $2500. 100% these funds will create discount and super discounted fees for those in need, provide childcare, and ensure that everyone is well nourished during the ritual.
If you are capable of making a donation, we ask that you do so as generously as you can afford to. No amount is too large or small when it comes to our liberation.
Thank you for contributing to this profoundly necessary and powerful community healing event.
With gratitude,
