Candace's Campaign Against Cancer

Donation protected

Candace Ann Stevens, now Caverno, was born January 11, 1958. Daughter to Morris and Josephine Stevens, wife to Kenneth Caverno and mother of three children. Mark, Peter and Steven.

This year our mother was diagnosed with Uterine cancer. She’s 60 year old and she needs our help.

You never want to hear your mother question herself “if it’s all worth it”
Our mom, a brave, confident, God loving woman sits and cries, bewildered as to how it could happen to her.

Often times in life there is no rhyme or reason as to why incidents happen to us, but throughout these times it’s imperative that we can come together with thoughts, prayers, love and support and say to our loved ones “Yes! It is worth it!”, “You can overcome this struggle” and that “You are not alone!”

Our mother has unfailingly been there for my brothers and I. She has always made us smile, she has consistently given us those “roll your eyes, I can't believe she just did that” moments, but she has always made us so proud and so appreciative that she’s our mom.

Her laughter is infectious, her effervescence unparalleled and when she sings, her voice can shape a smile on even the deafest of ears.

We’ve never known a woman so self-assured, committed and impassioned than our mother. Her sincerity, her selflessness, her benevolence is unwavering. No matter how many times you imply you're not hungry she will continue to offer to feed you.

When our mother was first diagnosed with cancer the prognosis appeared to be exceedingly favorable. Our mother would undergo a hysterectomy and purge her body of the cells which had metastasized in her uterus, however upon further imaging the oncologists discovered cancer cells had progressed into her lymphatic system as well, specifically around her aorta.

With these new findings, before a hysterectomy can be performed our mother must undergo chemotherapy treatments to kill and prevent further spreading of these cancer cells.

With no healthcare coverage our family wonders how can we furnish the funds to support these treatments, medications, imaging tests and surgical procedures. How can we sustain this burden so our mother doesn’t have to, so she can focus exclusively on her well-being.

We’re asking for your assistance and asking for any donations to aid our mother. Help this campaign gain visibility by liking and sharing on social media. The more people and organizations we can reach the greater probability our mother has to overcome these arduous times.
