The horrifying Camp Fire in Northern California is the most destructive blaze on record destroying nearly 7,000 structures, at least 23 lives, and many more remain missing. This beast tore through the entire town of Paradise, Ca. just a few miles from Chico, where I grew up, at raging speeds of 80 acres a minute. That's one football field per second! My very dear friend of 25 years, Korissa, and her family are a few of those who managed to escape the inferno. Korissa had just enough time to grab her children and get out before the fire blazed through. Her husband, James, had planned to follow them trailing minutes behind, with no cell service, and what was described as dark as midnight with no visibility but orange haze, thick black smoke and bumper to bumper cars in a panic. Korissa, James and their two children, Brynna, 7, and Kohen, 6 made it out safely. They thankfully have each other, the clothes on their backs, and everything else, GONE.
As we all know, it will take years to rebuild, replenish, and little by little replace. As we all sit here reading social media and watching the devastating news feeling helpless, we CAN help. Please donate. Please help the Lowe family along with many others. EVERY LITTLE BIT COUNTS!!!
