Help James Lowery Save his Foot and His Life
Hi my name is Rachele
In these times of uncertainty I hate to impose but after long consideration and prayer I come to you for help. My husband James was diagnosed back in January 2021 with a rare life altering foot condition known as Charcot Foot. After reading about his diagnosis he realized his work as a healthcare worker of 24 years was going to be a struggle and he prayed and began treatment with an open mind and heart. After a few months of treatment we were praying he was healing and then in March he was diagnosed with a diabetic foot ulcer as well. The ulcer and Charcot Foot continued to worsen and on May 31 I had to rush him to the ER due to signs of possible blood infection. It was determined the Charcot Foot had become infected and it infected his blood. Because of the sepsis and bone infection they did emergency surgery on his foot to remove collapsed infected bones and drain the infection. During this surgery we were told he suffered a heart attack and when he came out of surgery we also discovered both his kidneys had failed. After weeks in the hospital on IV antibiotics, dialysis, wound care and prayer we are starting to see a change for the better.
Unfortunately he has a long road ahead of him to recovery and has ran out of sick pay and without it he can not afford his medical insurance payments and continued care. We have been notified by the insurance carrier the payments have to continue to be paid monthly until his return to work or his medical insurance will be terminated. He is out of work currently until Further notice and we don’t have a return to work definite date. I have been trying to take on extra hours to try to make sure we continue to push forward on bills but now this new issue of loosing insurance and him not being able to continue treatments and medicines without insurance has hit us even harder. We really need help at this point. We felt the loss of income to pay our normal expenses could be over come by me working extra hours but working extra is also becoming a struggle with me taking him daily for wound care and treatments. So I come to you asking for any assistance you can spare to help us keep his healing going. Healing of this magnitude is difficult because not being able to use his foot is mandatory and continued reduction in healing can lead to amputation. Any help you can provide will be used to pay insurance premiums until his return to work, medical cost/ deductibles and other necessities (housing, utilities, medications, transportation to appointments, etc) needed to continue his healing. I thank you for your time and considerations.
Regards
Rachele
