Please meet my friend Carol and her six exceptional children. A few weeks ago, my friend Carol suddenly lost her husband. John passed away, leaving his loving wife of 30 years and his six children. Carol and the kids are left to pick up the pieces creating their new normal without their husband and father. John was the primary financial provider for his family. Not only are Carol and her children trying to face the world without John, but they are also navigating their financial situation with the uncertainty of the economy we live in today. Having to maintain household bills, have kids in college and high school, and try to face the world without John financially. Carol works full-time as a teacher's aide dedicated to her school, which provides faith-based education, under which she has also educated her children. As you can imagine going from a double-income household to a single-income household is financially devastating. Carol is left to support her family with her job alone.

If you knew John, you know that he worked tirelessly throughout his life. John's wife and children were everything to him. It is an understatement to say the world as they see it has crumbled. To add to the family worries, one of John and Carol's sons is severely autistic and suffering greatly with the processing of his fathers passing. I hope that by setting up this fund, we all band together to help Carol and her children get through the loss of John being able to grieve while worrying a little less about their financial difficulties.
