Help the Johnsons

Adler Bennett was born March 16th, more than 3 weeks before his due date. A short stay in the NICU and then he was able to come home a healthy, happy, loveable little boy. Last Thursday our world was shook. He developed a respiratory infection earlier in the week. My sister and her husband were alerted by Adlers owlet device that his oxygen and heart rate was dropping into the 70’s. They immediately brought him to the ER at Elliot Hospital. After hours spent in the emergency room it was determined that he required a higher level of care. With that, the attempt to transfer to MGH was made. During the transport in the ambulance, Adlers oxygen dropped to a critical level and they were unable to correct it. They immediately turned around back to Elliot, where he was eventually intubated. Being intubated he was med flighted to Boston Medical Center, where he continues to stay.

Adler has since been extubated but whatever virus he is fighting is taking everything out of him. He currently is unable to keep anything down, he has a nasogastric tube. Each day presents new challenges and we don’t have a foreseeable end to this nightmare.

My sister and her husband are down in Boston with their beautiful boy. But this of course comes at a cost. We are looking to raise money to help them with any obstacle that comes along; food, housing, medical costs.

Thank you so much for helping them through this terribleness.
