Recovery is Possible

Hi, my name is Jeffrey and I have come to know a life that is beyond my greatest imagination now that I am clean and sober. It has purpose and meaning. I am finally in a place mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally where my heart is full. It didn't come easy and there was great cost. Over 30 years of active addiction, disease and mental health challenges. took me from an abused youth to a homeless felon over the course of my life. I slept in doorways, traded myself for drugs and lost everything including the respect of my fellow man. They were about to give up on me for good but I found myself in a treatment center with a new shot at life. That was 21 years ago...

Now I am positioning myself to give back to the community that helped me so much. I wish to take it to the next level by advancing my studies and becoming a Certified Peer Support Counselor in the state of Washington. I want to stand as a testament to others that recovery is possible and make this work my vocation.

I am asking your blessing and support. I am without the resources to fund this entirely and in order to do the training (which is free) I will miss a week's wages and incur expenses of motel and car rental. This is not something I was prepared for and ask your assistance.

The training is August 7 -11 of 2023. The timing is crucial as they are opening a new day center in my community and looking to staff it during this same time period. Having my certification would help me be a viable candidate for the position.
