Hello folks.  My name is Cathy Barnett  I am a 55 yr old teacher from Reedley CA.  I have always been a strong and independent woman who has always been able to handle whatever comes my way.  Eight years ago I lost my husband after an extended illness  and a horrible fall after qualifying and receiving a liver and kidney transplant.  This was devastating to our family.  To make matters worse, I had to deal with a home robbery once I arrived home.  This tragedy coupled with the insurance companies refusal to settle the claim was too much strain and I ended up having my first heart attack and stint placement.   I have never quite gotten back on my feet.  I have failed to meet many of my responsibilities, but in an effort to resolve the problems in the home I went back to school where I worked on my Masters of Art Degree at CSUFresno.  I have tried to make a living by making artwork.  This has not been working out so well as I live in a remote town away from any metropolitan area.  I have tried to host art events here in my garden but that hasn't worked out well for me as I always seem to go in the hole.  After trying to do as much as physically possible I have managed to remain afloat, predominately by a few benefactors who seem to appreciate my work. Last year I received notice from the county tax office about my past due property taxes.  I was 5 years delinquent at that time.  I was able to make arrangements for the arrears and pay the current year as well.  That was June 2014.  I paid my December installment and was anticipating a new bill in June but last week I opened the mail and found a bill saying all is due April 10, 2015.  I am in panic mode.  I don't know which way to turn.  My daughter told me about GoFundMe and asked me to tell you good people about my plight.  I have friends and neighbors who are farmers, but unfortunately they are all up againt it because of the water crisis and having to dig wells.  I am blessed to have water and a home where I have lived my entire life.  This was my inheritance from my parents and the thought of losing my home is making me crazy.  I can file taxes and may get a refund but there is no guarantee that the funds will arrive in time.  I have tried to talk to the tax officials but there is no wiggle room whatsoever.  April 10th by 5 pm...  Can you help me please?
