Surgery for Zira

If you know me, chances are you know my sister, Sandy and her trusty sidekick, Zira. You've probably enjoyed their many adventures depicted on social media. In a recent post Sandy referred to Zira as her "fuzzy life partner." Well, we recently learned that Zira was found to have a large mass in her abdomen that is blocking a portion of her colon and not letting poop out. Thankfully they determined it's not cancerous, but it is still causing major health issues that likely will be life threatening for Z and has to be removed. After Sandy spent over $2k to FINALLY get the diagnosis, the $8k-$10k surgery price was a bit of a shock and is a little out of reach.

Zira is sweet, spunky and still has so much life to live. We are not ready to let her go. She has been a member of our family for over 13 years when Sandy stopped traffic at a busy intersection to rescue her. She brings so much joy to my sister, my kids and our whole family.

UPDATE:

I just took a walk with Sandy and Z. Zira was finally able to make good poop and was zooming with joy afterwards but we noticed it was even flatter than it had been prior a sign that the mass is becoming more compressive. I still haven’t told Sandy about this fundraiser but we are going to call around for some price comparison’s on surgery. That’s the latest. Thank you all for your support. ❤️
