Dear Friend of Luna,
My name is Heather Micklos, and am a friend of Chelsea Martin. As you know, on Monday January 22nd, a fire dimmed the lights on Luna Aesthetics and Spa. And while we’re grateful that no physical injuries were sustained, the emotional toll and setback to the Luna family is significant.
Luna is more than a business; it's a sanctuary and collective heartbeat in the lives of many. It's where Chelsea and her team, her chosen family, have shared laughter & tears, success & set-backs, as well as their expertise and passion with you. Today, they face uncertainty— but with your help, they can navigate through this period with a greater sense of steadiness.
Chelsea's own words echo the depth of this moment -
Those that know me understand that I’ve, in many ways, become familiar with loss and grief. Not a burden to carry but a grounded recognition that nothing in life is guaranteed.
Sitting with the loss of a material space that an incredible amount of emotional, mental, and physical work was poured into…
Not just by myself, but every single person that has worked in this space over the past 6 years.
Everyone that has sat at that front desk.
Every Esthetician that has been in a treatment room.
Everyone that has sat under those stars!
Every person that has put time into the growth of a space that was so sacred and special.
This loss isn’t just mine.
We are a small business in Richmond. We aren’t a franchise or a corporation. We don’t own the building. We don’t have some huge insurance check coming in.
We worked hard.
We showed up for ourselves, each other, and our clients.
We love what we do and the relationships we’ve built.
This will take time.
I’m working tirelessly to find a gentle landing space for all the Luna ladies. Their livelihoods are my priority and responsibility as a business owner. They are also simply, just, my people. I would and will move mountains for each one of these women.
(Just can’t put out fires! Sorry- humor is my trauma response.)
In the wake of the fire, your kindness has been palpable and DEEPLY appreciated. There have been just as many tears from gratitude than anything else. I’m still working through the texts and DMs but please know I feel it and I see you.
Chelseas sentiments remind me of Luna's significance to all who have been part of its journey— a testament to the community and sanctuary that Luna represents. If you can, how you can, will you contribute to the Luna GoFundMe?
Every contribution is more than a donation but also a beacon of hope and solidarity. Your support and kindness are the lifelines that will help the Luna family navigate through rebuilding and revival. Every gesture, big or small, contributes to the collective strength we are fostering to rise from these challenges. I speak for Chelsea and everyone at Luna, we’re immensely grateful for your consideration.
Thank you for standing with Luna.
