Help Zeus get the surgery he needs!

Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out to share what has been an incredibly distressing and emotional time for our little family. Our beautiful 2-year-old French Bulldog, Zeus, has suddenly become very unwell, and we’re doing everything we can to help him recover.
Zeus isn’t just a pet – he’s family. He’s our baby, our best mate, and the one who always has love, mischief, and joy to share. He’s also the much-loved big brother to our little Frenchie, Ellie, who is completely lost without him.
Just days ago, Zeus was his normal cheeky, playful self. But within 48 hours, his condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite three visits to our local vet and pain relief, something still wasn’t right. On the second day, his condition worsened dramatically while at the vet, and we were urgently referred to an emergency animal hospital 1.5 hours away.
We now live in a small rural town after moving to pursue our nursing careers, so access to specialised veterinary care is limited, and the travel has added another layer of stress to an already heartbreaking situation.
At the emergency vet, Zeus received immediate critical care – including CT scans, blood tests, IV fluids, and stronger pain relief. The diagnosis was devastating: inflammation in his cervical spine (C4) has caused a deviation, pressing on his spinal cord and leaving him paralysed with significant neurological symptoms.
Zeus’s condition has since deteriorated further, and he now requires emergency spinal surgery – a highly complex and risky procedure that must happen soon if he’s to have any chance of being himself again.
As you can imagine, this has taken a huge emotional toll on us. We’ve also had to take time off work to be with Zeus and manage his care, which has added to the financial strain. The emergency vet costs alone are already in the thousands, and the upcoming surgery will nearly triple that amount.
We’re doing absolutely everything we can to give Zeus the best shot at recovery, but it’s incredibly hard to do it on our own. If you’re in a position to help – no matter how big or small – your support would mean the absolute world to us. Every donation brings us one step closer to getting Zeus the specialised care he needs and deserves so he can walk, play, and snuggle with Ellie and us again.
If you can’t donate, we completely understand – your thoughts, prayers, and simply sharing Zeus’s story are just as powerful and deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for being part of Zeus’s journey to recovery.
With all our love and gratitude,
Miguel, Nathan, Zeus & Ellie
