My name is Shawn.  I am a 20+ year member of the US Armed Forces.  My girlfriend, Kristi, is a 7th Grade math teacher at Heard County Middle School in Franklin, GA.  HCMS is one the most successful schools in Georgia.  They continuously rank in the state top 5 each year. 

During her high school and college years, Kristi participated in many sports, especially volleyball and softball.  Due to her involvement in these activities, she now suffers from chronic lower back pain.  Most days the pain is tolerable, however there are many days she is unable to even get out of bed!

After suffering through this for many years, she has finally succumbed to the fact that surgery is the only method of relief.

Being a state employee, she is provided medical benefits.  Fortunately, these benefits will cover the majority of the cost of the procedure.  However, she is still required to cover 15% of the entire bill.  The "out of pocket" costs add up to almost $3K! Paying this will wipe out her entire savings!

I am trying to help her by starting this campaign. Anything collected is very much appreciated!  If by chance the dollor amount collected exceeds this amount, I will the donate the excess to St Judes Children's Research Hospital!
