Our precious Soraya has been attending school out of state since February. The academy best serves as a structured environment where she can grow emotionally and spiritually. This decision was not made lightly and came with grieving. We continue this process during the loss of pivotal moments that will be missed in the last 1.5 years of her childhood, yet we celebrate the opportunity God has given her to lead a Christ centered life as she emerges into adulthood.
An additional cost for Soraya’s healing has surfaced. Soraya has been chosen to be among a selected group that will be going on a mission trip October 29th - Nov 5th! Without going into detail this is an important opportunity specifically for her. During their time in El Salvador the students will be serving the local schools, orphanages, and community centers. The date of the amount due is to be determined but cost will cover, travel, room and board, and goodies for the children at the orphanage.
Kevin and I are asking you now to pray over the coming months. We pray that God will provide for this opportunity with the help of donations. More importantly, join us in further prayer:
God, flood Soraya with your healing, strength, and ever- faithful love. Soften, mold and break Soraya’s heart; to be open to the experiences presented as she continues her journey.
We humbly request that when Soraya returns home to us next year, that you allow her to tell her story and share with you the experiences of the mission trip if and when she is ready.
