Donation protected
We are the Expendibles!
A group of 8 Runners:
- John Hayes - Ashley Brownsword
- Lynne Eccles - Tim Wigley
- Simon Ward - Greg Hayes
- Nathan Brownsword - Paul Russell
We are taking part in the Tough Guy Assault Course run on the 31st January.
http://www.toughguy.co.uk/
This is a 15K run which will test us to the limits of our endurance and stamina. We will only beat this challenge with pure teamwork, blood, sweat and most probably tears, in aid of this fantastic charity.
We are raising money for Polymicrogyria Family Support.
http://www.polymicrogyria.co.uk/
This charity works closely with parents of children who have been diagnosed with Polymicrogyria.
"The mission of our charity is to raise awareness on Polymicrogyria and money for families that are affected by the condition."
"We support our Stars when they are in hospital by sending a gift and we support families by organising meet ups to offer support and advice"
Regional events have included visits to Gardens and Butterfly farms, providing sensory experiences for the children and a nice cup of tea for the parents.
Why have we chose this charity ?
John Hayes' daughter Esme was diagnosed with PMG after an MRI scan confirmed her brain had formed differently.
"After the initial dread and worry about what the future may bring for our little star, we found Polymicrogyria Family Support. Through their Facebook forums , we were quickly able to connect with other families, share stories, concerns, dispel the misinformation that is all over the internet about the PMG condition, and start to look forward to the future."
The most striking and powerful effect of this charity is this..
There are new parents joining every week.
Every week, parents are going through the exact same dread and uncertainty, the same sleepless nights we felt. These parents are all welcomed with open arms by members eager to hear about their stars, to provide emotional support, share picture and videos, to reassure these parents that they are not alone.
The charity plays a vital role in the lives of Families affected by PMG .
Please give what you can, £1, £5, £50, all donations are greatly received, and will be put to great use in providing continued support to the stars.
Thank you.
