PMC's Black History Month Book Drive
Donation protected
The opportunity to engage through education is a high point for all, especially for young readers, and Black authors have made a vast contribution to literary history. Yet, across the country, many schools experience a lack of resources — or no resources at all — and are unable to experience these great works.
PMC’s Black Affinity Group Book Drive serves as a way to encourage readership while supporting Black authors, such as poet laureate Amanda Gorman, whose first children’s book, “Change Sings” will continue to inspire generations to come.
With this fundraiser, PMC endeavors to support underserved schools with books that will help diversify their libraries. Through the company’s 2% Foundation (to learn more, click here ), all employee donations will be 100% matched, through March 19, 2021.
Books will be purchased from small, Black-owned bookstores to support these businesses, which have suffered during the pandemic. PMC and the Black Affinity Group will select the bookstores and the schools that will be awarded books and will make an announcement as soon as the process is complete.
While you can choose to make your donation completely anonymous, we will be tallying up the amount each brand/department has contributed. Each week, we will announce how much each brand has raised collectively via our newsletter.
