We are raising funds to help our amazing friend and neighbor Laura rebuild her life after a devastating accident happened on November 1st. Laura was in her home on an otherwise normal Monday evening, when suddenly a truck crashed into her home at full speed.
Laura is currently homeless and has no access to any of her belongings, leaving her with only the shirt on her back and borrowed items from friends and neighbors. The home Laura loved and lived in for 8 years has been condemned and is unsafe to step foot in because of the immense structural damage. She has home insurance, but as we know, navigating those channels can be challenging and time consuming, and it’s unclear when or if her insurance will cover the damages.
The driver lost control of his truck and drove off the main street, tearing through Laura’s fence and charging straight into Laura’s home, where she and her dog Axel sat just two feet away. Laura is grateful to be alive, and miraculously, she and Axel did not sustain any life-threatening physical injuries.

Laura is the best friend and neighbor you could ask for. She is selfless, hardworking, kind, and always has a smile on her face. When I moved into the neighborhood, Laura was the first person to welcome me. She gave me a big warm hug like she’d known me for years!
When anyone needs help, Laura is there. She has helped and supported several people through end of life with cancer – because that’s the kind of person she is.
What many folks don’t know about Laura is that she has a severely compromised immune system, causing her to get sick often and impacting her job. She has pushed through, but the past two years have been especially difficult with medical issues.
For all her life, Laura has put others before herself and stepped up in times of need. Now it’s time that we show up for Laura. Especially as the holiday season approaches, please consider supporting Laura on her journey of rebuilding her life and her home. Every dollar counts and will go toward getting Laura back on her feet.
If you are not able to donate, please share this GoFundMe page with your networks. You never know who Laura’s story may touch.
