In Memory of Alison

Alison Haygood was a kind and vibrant soul.  She was a good true friend to so many, always genuine and present with her friends.  In her work as a union organizer she was a passionate defender of workers' rights.  As a high school teacher in Baltimore, she was a devoted advocate for her students.  We lost her unexpectedly this week, and far too soon.  She's left a lot of broken hearts behind, including her husband Jimmy, for whom I have set up this fund.  I would like to help him with funeral expenses and medical bills, all of the unexpected costs that happen when a tragedy like this strikes. 

Separately, Jimmy has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Imagination Library, a nonprofit organization that sends free books to children worldwide.
