The Witter Family

If you have a child who has attended Farmington Public Schools, chances are you know, or have heard of, Coach Duane Witter. Duane has been teaching PE at FHS for 29 years and coaches the boys' Varsity basketball team. He is an extremely dedicated and passionate educator and coach. His wife, Julie, has been a reading teacher in Farmington for many years.  They have 2 sons who attended Farmington Schools. Now, this family needs our support as Duane battles Leukemia for the second time.
Duane was diagnosed with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia, in June of 2019. He received chemotherapy and went into remission in November. Recently, he has suffered a relapse , which means the leukemia has returned. He is scheduled to receive a stem cell transplant at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston as soon as a donor is located. He is now receiving chemotherapy again at Hartford Hospital to put the leukemia back into remission before he gets the transplant. 
Recovery will take time, but the family is hopeful. Anyone who saw Farmington's State Championship game knows that you can be down at halftime and still make a comeback to win the game!
We are asking you to join us in helping the Witter family. All of the money raised will help pay for medical bills, Julie's extended stay in Boston during the treatment, and other additional expenses the family will incur due to Duane's illness. Hopefully, together, we can ease some of the burden for the Witters. Thank you for supporting this amazing family!
