Help Holly Stark Get the Treatment She Desperately Needs
Hello, my name is Holly Stark, and I need your help. At the age of 12, I was diagnosed with encephalitis, a devastating condition that can cause long-term brain damage. Now, at 30, I'm still fighting the effects, and I’m experiencing a terrifying and disabling condition known as “the sleeper effect,” where my brain seems to be slowly fading. I am currently an inpatient at Doncaster Brodsworth Ward, but the care I’m receiving is not enough.
For years, I’ve been battling symptoms of psychosis, which I know is linked to encephalitis. But I’m stuck in a system where the NHS doesn’t have the funding or staff to provide the comprehensive care I desperately need. I feel like I’m stuck—treated only for the symptoms, but never the underlying cause. It’s painful to admit, but I don’t have the financial means to seek the vital treatments and tests that could give me a second chance. I need brain scans, specialized tests, and the right neuro-specialists to finally get the answers and care I deserve.
This isn’t just about surviving—it’s about thriving. I want to live a full and healthy life. I want to make the most of my thirties, but right now, I can’t do that without proper treatment. I’m reaching out to you, my community, to help me access the medical care I’ve been deprived of for years.
