Hi, my name is Sean and I'm creating this to help my best friend, Nate.
Recently, Nate a father of three boys, husband, and friend to all, wasn't feeling good so I convinced him (well, let's be real I made him) go to the ER to get checked out. After many many tests, pokes, and prods it was determined Nate was in complete kidney failure and was anemic. He was admitted into the ICU for more tests and observation. They started him on dialysis and gave him multiple blood transfusions.
It was during one of these inpatient dialysis sessions that he got the devastating news. He has multiple myeloma cancer. This is a cancer of the bone marrow.
Nate now has to go through 6 weeks of chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. After the transplant, he will be required to spend 4 to 5 weeks in the hospital to recover, two hours away from his family.
Because Nate can no longer work, and up until now Rae was a stay-at-home mom their savings are dwindling fast. The medical bills are mounting fast and the amount of medication Nate has to take is astronomical. Not to mention the everyday bills that continue to arrive each month. Nate has applied for disability for the time being, but that can take months to get approved.
Those that know Nate know he would never ask for a "hand out" but, I want Nate to be able to focus on getting better and healing, not stressing over how he is going to support his family.
PLEASE if you're in a position to help, every dollar would be extremely appreciated.
