PLZHELP NICK MAKE HIS HOME HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE

HI FRIENDS AND FAMILY,

My name is Judie Venuti-Antal and my daughter, Valerie Bradshaw and I are creating this GOFUNDME for my son Nick Venuti who lives in Pittsburgh.

As you probably heard Nick was in a terrible motorcycle accident on 3-2-2023. He was LifeFlighted to Allegheny General Hospital and remained in the trauma unit and ICU until 3-23-2023. It's a miracle he is alive. He was t-boned by a car that ran a stop sign and was pushed into the vehicle in front of him which threw him into a hillside.

He has multiple injuries. All of his extremities are broken. Both wrists, both arms, both legs and 1 ankle as well as his pelvis. He needed 7 surgeries, resulting in a knee replacement and a hip replacement. The rest of his broken bones had to be rebuilt and reset.

He was transferred to a specialty rehab for intensive PT & OT. He is learning how to sit up now. He cannot get out of bed because he is not weight-bearing. Nor can he transfer to a wheelchair. Those are his immediate goals. His prognosis is for 6 months to a year as of now. The doctors indicated it is going to be a long haul. We will continue to update you on his progress. The good news is that Nick has a positive attitude and is enthusiastic about his future!

We want to make his home handicap accessible because his home is a two-story and when he can return home he will only be able to live on the first floor. The first floor may need the thresholds widened and a shower installed in the current laundry room. This means the plumbing will need to be extended to create a shower in the laundry room. We are not completely sure of the entire process but the entire first floor will need to be wheel

chair accessible.

Nick also needs his roof installed, he has all the materials and was waiting for the weather to break in Pittsburgh to do that project. Unfortunately, he cannot do any of the work as he planned and this is the reason for our GOFUNDME.

Nick has worked hard his entire life. He raised his son and his stepson and provided for them as a single father. Nick has paid off his house early.
