We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our dear friend Don Luu and his two beloved children during an extremely difficult time.
On Sunday, February 4th — heartbreakingly, also World Cancer Day — Don received a devastating diagnosis: Stage 4 terminal colorectal cancer. In a single moment, his world — and the world of his children — was turned upside down.
Since that day, Don’s health has deteriorated quickly and he's now hospitalized with failing organs, surrounded by those who love him most as they prepare to say goodbye. Don faces the heartbreaking reality of leaving his children behind: he won’t be there to see his children — Darren (20) and Kaitlyn (22) — get married or have families of their own. At an age when they should still be leaning on their dad for guidance and support, they are now forced to prepare for a life without him. As his days grow shorter, Don’s only concern is the well-being of Darren and Kaitlyn — never once focusing on himself or seeking pity.
Though Don would never ask for help himself, we're reaching out on his behalf as we want to ease this burden so he can find peace in his final days. Don has always been the first to step up for others, and now it’s our turn to be there for him. He is a devoted father, a kind and gentle soul, whose loyalty, warmth, and sense of humor have left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
