Pls help Brenda and her kids, Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
On the evening of Friday, July 12th, Brenda had just finished putting her three kids to bed, when she thought she began to smell smoke. Concerned, she opened the door and peered towards the second floor apartment, only to see smoke billowing from under the door. Everyone ran out in the dead of night, shoeless and with just the clothes on their backs, and watched helplessly as their brand new home succumbed to the flames. Hours later, when she was given the "ok", Brenda returned for the last time to collect what could be salvaged so she could begin her family's journey to rebuild their lives.
Brenda and I met 17 years ago, as young women starting our careers in an OBGYN office. We started as coworkers and became lifelong friends, sharing many wins and losses along the way. Brenda is truly one of a kind and an absolute powerhouse of a woman. Her spirited laughter lights up our office day in and day out. She's the first to step in whenever an extra set of hands is needed. She works full time, while raising her three kids alone, and does it all without a peep - you would never know when she's having a bad day. Brenda's mother, who was a huge support system for herself and her kids, sadly passed away late last year. It's a loss that they still struggle with tremendously and this recent upheaval of their livelihoods has shaken them to their cores, but my coworkers and I are rallying to bring some semblance of peace and stability back into their lives.
While it took Brenda some convincing (because that's the kind of person she is) to start this Gofundme, she finally relented! Please help us get Brenda and her kids back on their feet and into a home of their own. Her oldest, Mason, will be celebrating his 14th birthday at the end of this month and continuing his journey through middle school. Her middle, Mariah, will be experiencing the joys of double-digit-hood in the third grade, and her youngest, Ava, will be dancing away in her specialized daycare for children with Autism. It is all of our hopes to get this family situated as soon as possible, especially with the upcoming school year just around the corner. From the bottom of all our hearts, thank you for choosing to support the most deserving family that we know.
