Help Anna fight cancer

Donation protected
Hi all,
My dear friend Anna is fighting Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer. This news has devastated her family and friends that live abroad, and friends close by.

Anna is 39 years old. She is a passionate and dedicated physiotherapist, sports injury specialist and physical health practitioner running her own business. She has healed many bodies and touched many hearts with her professional caring nature, and has continued to treat people even while she has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment.

2022:
Anna is living her best life being healthy, adventurous and active, there is no indication that she might receive this unwanted surprise. One day she was happily hiking Bluff Knoll, and six weeks later was struggling to cross the street. She was suffering from shortness of breath and a painful heart causing her whole chest to feel tense. She visited her GP several times to diagnose the symptoms, but they couldn't find anything wrong until finally she requested an Xray.

In April 2022 following the Xray results she visited Sir Charles Gardner Hospital in Perth where the specialists discovered a large tumour in the center of her chest. She was immediately scheduled to start high-dose chemotherapy.

Between April and August 2022 she underwent four months of chemotherapy, four times fortnightly, followed by 25 sessions of daily radiation treatment (Monday to Friday) between September and November 2022. The doctors were hopeful that the cancer was contained, that they had caught it early and could stop it in its tracks. Unfortunately, in December 2022 a follow-up discovered that the tumour had returned in a different location, and in February 2023 she was sent back for another 2 cycles of chemotherapy.

Following her first chemotherapy, Anna experienced fatigue, mouth ulcer, hot flushes multiple times a day, sensitive hearing, hair loss, pressure on her eyes, nausea, bloating, constipation, heart burn, and difficulty sleeping which have made it difficult for Anna.

Similarly, after her second round of chemotherapy, she was experiencing pain while eating due to mouth ulcers, hot flushes, dizziness and was admitted to hospital due to Neutropenic sepsis. She is also regularly visiting hospital for monitoring tests, and to receive blood transfusions.

2023:
She recently undertook a stem cell collection procedure to prepare for a bone marrow transplant, following her next dose of chemotherapy (if overall her body is fit to do that).

She is still smiling and bravely fighting despite the fear, anxiety and pain.

We are starting this GoFundMe to seek donations to ease her disrupted income for living costs and other expenses so that she can rest well, fight cancer and receive love. Watching her go in and out hospital and cancelling her work schedule and appointments at late notice is heart breaking. We appreciate any amount that will help Anna to reduce her burden, and to remove some of the stress off her mind and family.

Please donate and share to spread the word and reach out to maximise our support. Your love and support are so appreciated. We will keep her story updated here as she journeys through kicking cancer’s ass.

We looking forward to seeing Anna fully recover so she can continue to do what she loves, and spending her time with the people she loves most!
