Nolan Jennings was born on March 13 at 8:01 PM Pacific time, via emergency Cesarean surgery, weighing in at 4 pounds. He was born at approximately 6.5 months (30.5 weeks) gestation, due to a condition known as preeclampsia.
Preeclampsia can escalate into a very serious condition that can be fatal to both the mother and baby, and unfortunately in Thea's case, the serious escalation had begun. To save Thea and baby Nolan, the doctor recommended the surgery to happen the very same day the diagnosis was made.
After the surgery and with continuing treatment, the doctors and nurses are very optimistic about Thea and Nolan’s long-term outcome and health.
Thankfully, the preeclampsia symptoms have diminished. Thea is working hard at recovery, taking short hallway walks, eating healthy, taking minimal pain-medication, and focusing on her job as a mother who provides the best possible food for little Nolan.
Nolan is spending his days in a quiet, calm, specially and highly equipped room in the NICU. He has a dedicated nurse tending him. Nolan is required to stay in the NICU until sometime around mid-May.
As many of you will agree, Aaron and Thea are two of the most selfless people you will ever meet. They are always there for others, and would give their last dollar to help someone in need. I established this GoFundMe in hopes of giving back to them and relieving some of the financial stress.
Between Thea's hospital stay and Nolan's two-month stay in the NICU, Aaron and Thea's financial future is uncertain. Your help in easing the stress of mounting hospital bills will help them focus instead on what is most important -- the health of Mom and baby Nolan.
Please consider donating -- any dollar amount you can contribute will make a huge difference! Your prayers and loving thoughts toward Thea, Aaron, and Nolan are much appreciated.
Warmly,
Yvonne (Thea's sister)
