Plenty O'Renovations

• Who am I?

My name is Alex and I am a drag queen cookie artist with a dream to quit my part-time job and become a full-time baker and conquer the confectionary world. My business, Plenty O’Cookies , has been successfully running for almost 6 years and I’m ready for the next step to making my dream a reality. I produce thousands of cookies each year anxiously awaiting for the right time to make the move toward my own bakery space. This year I bought the perfect home for the task. My basement space will be converted into an entire kitchen, event space, and bathroom for clients. Below are the details on how I will use the space, what steps I have taken so far, the costs of the project, and my vision for the future.

• Plenty O’Cookies full-time

I want to bake full-time and that’s no secret, but that’s not all I want to do. I would like to continue to use my platform to raise awareness for the LGBTQ+ community, partner with other entrepreneurs for events, and contribute philanthropically to the community.

• The Spaces

The kitchen area will be used for baking, shocker I know, but also experimenting. I want to expand my repertoire of baked goods to not only include cookies. I love to bake but with working another job it gives me little time for experimental bakes. This will be a game changer for me with the funding of this project. Another amazing use for this space will be for me to move forward with cookie videos and live tutorials. My current workspace is limited so I have taken a break from filming. The kitchen will be perfect for all of my video work. The event space is the other half of the work area. It will be an open space used for hosting cookie decorating workshops. This will be the first time I have a space to welcome guests into the artistic confectionary world. The space will be used for public and private events.

• What steps have I taken?

When I bought my home I contacted many contractors to help me with my dream. Axiom Construction Services and Mission Design and Staging will be making my vision a reality. We have gone over weeks of content and they have been such a help through the entire process. I knew before I arrived at the funding stage I wanted to take steps myself to prep the space. My dad and I constructed walls around the furnace and hot water tank. My friend and I worked on updating the walls. I also purchased the appliances for the space. I have a beautiful KitchenAid double oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher waiting for me to call in the delivery. I will say... I have never been so excited for an oven in my life. My current oven is okay but this oven will be a game changer.

• Project Costs

There are lots of costs to the project, which is where you come in. It will come to around $40,000. I know, right, that’s a lot of DOUGH ;) Puns aside, this project will not be possible without supporters like I have had over the years. The amount I’m raising includes the construction and fees incurred from the GoFundMe process. All of the funds raised will go directly to the costs of the project with any surplus being utilized toward any hidden costs that may come up in construction.Your donation may qualify you for rewards. • What can you do to help?

You can do a few things to help me achieve my dream. You can contribute to my funding project or share my GoFundMe link. I know not everyone can contribute monetarily to my project. If you can, great! If you can’t please help me by sharing my page and spreading the word.
