Hello everyone, my name is Shamika, I work at St. Peter's Hospital. I've had the pleasure to work with Lisa Canty for the past 3 years. Working with Lisa has been a pleasure and anyone who has had the opportunity to come in contact with her knows of her delightful spirir. I am very grateful to have her as a co-worker as well as a friend.Lisa is always willing to go above and beyond to help others especially in crisis. It only takes her a second to facilitate a positive gesture to help a co-worker/friend in need. She never thinks twice.
The Canty family is going through a heartbreaking situation right now. Lisa's daughter Regan who is 11 years old was rushed to Albany Medical Center on Friday 9/18/2015 via 911/ambulance. Regan suffered a bleed in her brain due to a malformation in her brainstem she was unknowingly born with that ruptured Friday. She underwent surgery Friday to remove a large blood clot. Regan will need to undergo another brain surgery to clip the AVM(malformation) praying that it does not rupture again. She is currently in the pediatric ICU and will remain there until her medical condition changes.
Many people have been asking what can they do to help? The first thing this family can use is prayers, lots and lots of prayers. The next thing I'm asking is if anyone can donate any money to help this family it would be greatly appreciated. No guesture is too small. A little goes a long way!The Canty family are going to have a number of expenses that will need to be covered. They are encountering medical expenses, lost of wages for parents, gas to accommodate the travel back and forth as well as meals.
