Please help in anyway you can. Chelsea "Scarlett" was involved in a serious hiking accident on April 28th which left her with a broken leg, shattered spine and two shattered feet. She is blessed to be alive and has a very long road to recovery. An avid hiker and yogi, Scarlett was to attend yoga teacher training just weeks after this accident, to pursue her dream of sharing yoga with the world. Now she cannot care for herself and is dependent on her mother and sister. Scarlett's mother is a single parent and has been unable to work; Scarlett requires around the clock care.

Scarlett is just 18 years old. Bright, empathetic and with a huge giving heart. She is fiercely independent and a very private person. The accident has left her totally dependent and exposed.
After the accident Scarlett was flown by helicopter to a nearby trauma center where she was whisked away into emergency surgery. She underwent two more long surgeries in the days after the accident. Her doctors expect she will need further surgery as she heals. She suffered severe infection in the days after her injuries which left her delirious in the intensive care unit. Her wounds continue to cause concern as she was laying in dirty water with open fractures for over an hour.

She is home now, but unfortunately her home is not set up for the disabled. Insurance does not cover many things, especially in the home. Furthermore, this family, like many others, cannot endure very long without any income.

For now, Scarlett dreams of the future, where she hopes to fulfill her dream of volunteering to help elephants in India, get back to college, and one day hopefully chase that yoga teacher training.
Donations of any amount will help this family during this catastrophic time. Thank you in advance for your generosity and prayers.
