Cali started with her IVDD on the 30th Dec 2024. She had an MRI in January with the money raised so far, fast forward we found out she’s stage 2 ivdd, she has a spinal malformation which she’s had since birth called Hemivertebrae which has grown a piece of tissue on her spinal cord causing her micro instability and she also now has neurological problems caused from the ivdd and her spinal malformation. Her GFM has been open since January when she first went downhill, we raised £1705 so far however that has been used for her MRI in January and towards her recovery. Cali has been in recovery for 7 months, she has been undergoing conservative treatment since Feb 2025. She has hydro therapy, Lazer and physio therapy. She had been doing so so well and I couldn’t be more proud. Until Thursday morning, she took one of the worst turns she’s took since she was last on her medication a few months ago. She is now back on her meds again but even on her meds she’s still showing symptoms of discomfort and pain somewhere again. Cali may need to go into see her neurologist to be reassessed and if they think she is deteriorating then she will need to go for another MRI with the potential need of surgery. Cali hasn’t had surgery yet as we was told it would be very complex but that was from the first referral place we went to. She is now somewhere new since being messed around from the first place so they may think different when they do their own imagining with an MRI if needed like we was warned at our last appointment 2 months ago. Cali’s insurance has been refusing the past 6 months, I’ve been fighting and fighting for them to cover her conditions and they are adamant they won’t because it’s pre existing even though it really isn’t, meaning Cali will never be covered for her spinal conditions now despite doing everything right for as long as she is here. Leaving me with no choice other than to try and raise and make as money much as I can on social media to try and cover my girls medical bills and what’s to come.
