Dispatcher Dani Davis & Tom Trichel's Medical Fund
Donation protected
As some of you may know, Dispatcher Dani Davis' other half, Tom, has recently been diagnosed with Oropharyngeal Cancer (cancer of the throat). At this difficult time, we would love to surround them with whatever financial support we can, as Tom is currently unable to work and is not insured. The medical bills will mount as he continues to fight this with treatment.
Dani not only is an amazing dispatcher but she is always the first to assist with projects like Police Week, Telecommunicator's Week, holidays, Support at the Polar Plunge and potlucks. She is always the first to step up for her co-workers. Let's show her and Tom the love they deserve by stepping up for them.
The donations you make will be put towards the mounting up-front medical costs and general expenses they're facing. Any amount, big or small, will have an enormous effect on their morale and ability to remain positive through this experience. If it is more convenient, or to avoid the fees of gofundme, please feel free to donate in person with Ashley Shager in Radio. Thank you in advance!
Dani & Tom are bravely using this as a time to promote HPV awareness. HPV can lay dormant in boys/men for years before turning into cancer later in life, as it has in Tom. It is important to them that you know this is a preventable and curable cancer. So moms and dads, discuss the vaccine with your children's doctors. Men, be aware and discuss screenings at your next check up, as this is a fairly new discovery in medicine. For more, please read the info at the CDC's link. https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/hpv/basic_info/hpv_oropharyngeal.htm.
Please keep Dani & Tom in your thoughts and prayers as he's 2 weeks into his treatment. He has had a GI tube and a Chemo port placed, 2 chemo treatments, and multiple radiation treatments. The schedule is intense, with Chemo once a week, and radiation five days a week. But they are committed to facing and fighting this together. Your support, financial or otherwise, means the world to them.
