Help Resettle a Ukrainian Refugee Family to Marin
Donation protected
The Kucherenko family is seeking safety in Sleepy Hollow, CA, and they're on their way! Here they are boarding the train to cross the border into Poland. They will arrive at SFO on June 1, 2023. They are coming as part of the Uniting for Ukraine program, which is a streamlined process for Ukrainian refugees to come to the United States when sponsored. The Kucherenko's housing is being provided by their sponsors Alison Smith-Brennan and Jan Brennan on Butterfield Road.
We hope our community will welcome Nadiia, Ruslan, and their two children, Hlib (15-year-old boy) and Melaniia ( 9-year-old girl) as they resettle here after leaving their war-torn home of Kharkiv, just 25 miles from the Russian border.
This young family is fleeing their country with the most important things - their lives and each other - but they will need help in getting established.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
1. DONATE - This is a way to directly support our new neighbors with a contribution toward start-up costs which include buying a used car, insurance, clothing, school supplies, etc and monthly essentials like groceries, gas, phone service and incidentals. All contributions will be in an account that the Kucherenko family can draw from as needed. No donation is too small to help, so please make a contribution that is right for you.
2. SPREAD THE WORD - We'll let our people know, you let your people know.
Thank you for helping them to get their footing and move ahead to a safe future.
