My name is Russell, and I reside in Northampton. I am a father of four and work full-time, as does my fiancée. Over the past few years, we have faced significant financial challenges, and now our beloved 10-year-old black Labrador cross, Turbo, has fallen seriously ill. Expressing the profound impact Turbo has had on my life is difficult; his presence has been a source of immense support, especially during my struggles with mental health issues over the past six years. Turbo is cherished not only by my immediate family but also by our extended family and everyone who

has had the pleasure of meeting him. He embodies an exceptional temperament and a gentle heart.

Approximately ten days ago, Turbo began exhibiting symptoms of illness, including vomiting, loss of appetite, and seeking shelter under our table. We sought assistance from a well-known veterinary chain in the UK and attended four appointments, each requiring payment. However, we felt disheartened by their approach, as they seemed more focused on financial gain than Turbo's well-being. Despite our efforts, they insisted on exorbitant upfront fees for diagnostic tests and treatment, which our pet insurance coverage did not adequtely support due to Turbo's age.

Despite our attempts to secure alternative funding, including seeking credit and assistance from various organizations, we faced repeated setbacks. The RSPCA very kindly gave us a voucher for a consultation fee, which was a great help. We arnt in the catchment area for an PDSA hospitals and we didnt fit the requirements for the Dogs Trust. Eventually, we sought a second opinion from Rhodes Vets in Northampton, where we encountered a compassionate and knowledgeable team. Their thorough examination and genuine concern for Turbo's welfare provided us with reassurance amidst financial struggles. Despite our financial constraints, they offered to proceed with necessary tests and treatment, extending a rare opportunity for payment flexibility. This is something they don't offer as a rule,

Realizing the urgency of Turbo's condition and the financial burden it poses, I have created this GoFundMe campaign to appeal for assistance. Funds raised will be directed to Rhodes Vets to cover Turbo's medical expenses directly. In the unfortunate event that Turbo's condition is deemed terminal, any remaining funds will contribute to ensuring his peaceful passing. Conversely, if treatable, the funds will support his surgical intervention and recovery. Any surplus will be donated to Rhodes Vets to aid other pet owners facing financial hardship, as a gesture of gratitude for their exceptional care and compassion.
