Please read our story Evicted with 4 kids (3w special needs)

Hi my name is De’Nitra and I am fundraising for my husband and I and our four kids (3 have special needs) we have been homeless for over a year now. We fell behind on rent while our daughter was hospitalized she wasn’t even one and had endured 6 brain surgeries due to complications with her hydrocephalus and epilepsy. We both lost our jobs I never left her side she was just a baby and I never wanted her to cry for me and I wasn’t there. Dad couldn’t work & had to stay home with our other three kids our oldest 8yo with autism and middle child 6yo with hydrocephalus as well. They require 24hr supervision especially our first born autistic son who elopes often. We got evicted . Pretty much everything was still in our apt we lost everything. Christmas just passed, kids birthdays… we had nothing but about three outfits a piece the police who came to do the lockout were so mean and hostile even with our one year old and autistic son there. We didn’t get five minutes to grab essentials we didn’t get anything! After signing up for the housing program through LA county we got motel vouchers $1400 for two weeks. It helped tremendously being I had nothing but California hotels are expensive if not a huge deposit so we were able to get 7 days instead of two weeks paying the difference. We slept in our car a few nights my fiancé donated plasma over and over getting money for hotels. He now works and has had the job for almost a year. All our money goes to car rentals, hotels, food, essentials, our storage. We get complaints from hotels a lot because our autistic son can be loud at times he has no space to be himself. I am hoping to raise enough money to get an apt.

update: We purchased a van it’s not pretty but it’s perfect. There was no seats so my husband pulled them out of an old van at a UPULLIT and paid $30 each for the seats. The car smelled like gas after turning on the air conditioner so we got it checked out and it seems we have a leak in our fuel system. We feel like we’re back at square one. Some nights have been in our van and some nights hotels. My husband works 7 days a week and we barely see any of the money. I feel like we’ll never have enough to be able to pay for a deposit and first months rent without going without a place to sleep or food to eat. My husband and I are great people who fell behind and can’t seem to get back on our feet. We are asking for any help at all. We would get a place for our family, fix up our van and get essentials for our new home especially for my autistic son so he can be comfortable and safe for our babies with hydrocephalus. Our kids are getting older now they are wondering why they don’t have a home and it’s not fair we don’t deserve this we are amazing parents and our daughter being hospitalized nobody showed an ounce of sympathy we were kicked on our butts and left alone no family or support at all! Anything is greatly appreciated.
