We come to you with heavy hearts and an urgent plea for help. Our dear friend Ella, a resilient single mother, is facing an unimaginable challenge. Her one-month-old baby is currently in the hospital battling a rare disorder seen only once in every two million births - Pituitary stalk Interruption syndrome- affecting his pituitary gland, the bodies “master gland” leaving him no control over his body temperature, muscles, blood glucose, blood pressure, or any stress response at all without the help of steroids and growth hormones which they are waiting patiently on.

While the tiny warrior fights for life, Ella has been dealt another devastating blow. She has been admitted to the hospital due to peripartum cardiomyopathy – a weakened heart and fluid in the lungs. The doctors have told Ella she is in Advanced heart failure and her heart is only pumping at 15-20% where it should be at 65%. She faces two procedures tomorrow, a cocktail of new meds, and most like leaving on a “life vest” which is a portable defibrillator to keep her alive in the event of a heart attack while she goes back to tending to her son in the hospital.

In the midst of this heart-wrenching situation, her 14-year-old daughter is bravely staying with a friend, trying to find stability in an incredibly uncertain time.

As a single mom, Ella hasn't been able to work, leaving her family in a precarious financial situation. The mounting medical bills, daily expenses, and the looming uncertainty of when they can return home are taking a toll on their already fragile situation.
