Hello, I'm Sydnee and I am starting this GoFundMe for my husband. I met Zach 4 years ago in the most unconventional way. We quickly fell in love, and I moved myself and my two kids from TX to UT to be with him. Soon after, we got pregnant with our son, got married, and he adopted my children as his own. During our first pregnancy in 2023, we found out that Zach, at only 33 years old, had Melanoma Stage 4 Cancer. At a time he should be enjoying the excitement of welcoming a child, he was overwhelmed with many scans leading him to surgery. This entailed removing his belly button down to the muscle as well as removing 4 lymph nodes from his groin that tested positive for cancer. After the surgery, he underwent months and months of immunotherapy, and we thought this was behind us. He had continual scans to check on things every few months, leading us to the worst news we could receive in September of 2025, at the same time as finding out that we were pregnant with our second child. This news was that the cancer metastasized to his liver. At this point, it was 3 small lesions. They began immunotherapy for 3 months every 3 weeks, injecting him with 2 types of medication each time. We thought this would work and everything would be better, but we were wrong. At the most recent scan at the beginning of April, we received news that the lesions have grown double or more, and many more lesions have appeared. Going back and forth with doctors, we were hopeful that he would have a positive blood marker that would open him up to many trials. He is negative. This leaves us one option, TIL Therapy. If you Google, TIL therapy is very expensive. Our original insurance has denied us, and we are in a frantic panic trying to switch to an insurance that will hopefully cover some of it. We are currently in a limbo of fear as the cancer grew that much with immunotherapy, and we are currently on nothing. There is a pill option, but that is just a bandaid and is not a durable option for survival rate. We are ineligible for a transplant due to being Stage 4 and it metastasizing. Our only option is the TIL Therapy. TIL therapy is a scary journey, being in the ICU for 2 weeks with only a 30-40% survival chance, but it is our only hope. At this point, it is life or death. We received news that with nothing, we have maybe a year. We are at a standstill on pins and needles watching for any yellowing, which can mean things are going downhill fast. We need this therapy and any help we can get. Zach is only 36 years old. We just welcomed our second child together, but he's a dad to four. We are supposed to be enjoying this beautiful time, but we are drowning in worry and fear. I need my husband. The kids need their dad. He deserves to live for many more years. We don't like to ask for help, but have realized the severity and are asking for just the smallest donation or even a prayer. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read our story!
