Dear Friends and Miami Beach High Classmates, One of the great things about being a graduate of Beach High in the 1970s is the camaraderie, memories and history we share that created a lifetime bond between us. It is this shared experience which compels us to reach out and humbly request your assistance on behalf of one of our own, Tracy Roth.
Tracy is a 1976 graduate of Beach High, married to Gail Roth, class of 1979 and a good friend to us all.
For decades, Tracy was a successful General Contractor and builder of luxury homes in South Florida. Unfortunately, Tracy has experienced extremely serious health issues dating back to 2013, when he was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer, which went into remission after several years, numerous surgeries and repeated rounds of chemotherapy.
In late-2023, the latent effect of the cancer appears to have caused a debilitating mass to develop on his spine next to his kidney. Over the past 3 months, Tracy has spent most of his time in and out of hospitals while the medical professionals pondered if and how they could remove the mass without leaving him paralyzed. Finally, last week the chief of Neurosurgery at U.M. Health, Jackson Memorial Hospital, was able to operate and remove the mass intact without it spreading. Although the surgery was successful, Tracy has a long road to recovery and possibly follow up surgeries.
As we write this, Tracy is still awaiting the pathology report from Sylvester Cancer Center, and we pray for good news.
As you can imagine, these health issues have significantly impacted Tracy’s ability to work and depleted his finances. He is not out of the woods yet, and it is unknown when he will be able to go back to work. It is for that reason that we are reaching out to you for donations to assist Tracy through his recovery. No amount is too small, and all of your kindness and generosity is sincerely appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to consider this request and help our friend and classmate. Your donations, thoughts and prayers will benefit Tracy not just financially, but spiritually and emotionally as he continues to fight and completely recover!
Sincerely,
Barry Wax, Gregg Lickstein and Adam Khan
